ASTEA – January 2022
We had a chat with our partners at ASTEA to learn more about the installation activities at Osimo demosite and the upcoming demonstration campaign.
What have been the updates in Osimo since last September? What do you think are the most important results?
The installation of the thermal energy storage is completed and it is actually working with good results in terms of efficiency. On the electric mobility side, we are waiting for the last laboratory tests to verify the functionality between DC charging station and electric vehicle. Only then we will proceed with the installation of the DC charging station at Astea headquarter and we will start the field tests scheduled by February 2022. In the meantime, the control strategies are almost completed. As soon as the installation of the DC charging station is done, the demo campaign will officially start with the monitoring and data analysis.
What were the main challenges of the year and how did you overcome them?
The main challenges were to finalize the installation of the DC charging station and finally start the demo campaign to understand the effects of the assets installed with the evaluation of their performance through KPI analysis.
Was has been your favourite part of the setup process?
Surely the test phase of the assets installed, because it was possible to better understand the system potentialities and how to increase the interaction among different technologies.
What should we expect in 2022?
2022 is expected to be a crucial year for the MUSE GRIDS project as we will reap the benefits of the work done in the last 3 years of activity.
Demonstration campaign will officially start this year. So, it will be a useful phase to validate the virtual models as well as the effectiveness of the MUSE GRIDS approach through KPIs defined in WP1.
