MUSE GRIDS kicks off activities in collaboration with the Riga Energy Agency on 30 July 2021 in RIGA, LATVIA
On July 30th, MUSE GRIDS partner and coordinator RINA have visited Riga, Latvia, to kick-off a series of activities with the Riga Energy Agency for the energy planning of the city. The collaboration between the two comes in the framework of the replication activities of MUSE GRIDS in different EU cities, an essential aspect of the exploitation of the benefits of the project.
After having identified a series of cities in different EU countries where MUSE GRIDS energy modelling could work, RINA proceeded to work side by side with them, starting with the Latvian capital. Following the signature of a letter of intent, they will work in order to model the energy systems of the city, both in the baseline situation and in a number of energy transition scenarios, thus supporting Riga Energy Agency in the redaction of the Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan.
Riga aims to become the first carbon-neutral city of the Baltic countries, and the work developed by MUSE GRIDS and its partners will be of great value when planning the actions needed for that before 2030.
